The Green Valley Road Multi-Use Trail project in Manhattan is scheduled to
begin on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. The trail will be for both pedestrians and
bicyclists.
The project will consist of a 10-foot wide concrete trail
from Eagles Landing Drive, then south along Green Valley Road to Edgewood Drive
and then west to Powers Lane ending at Highway 24. There will be green space
between the back of the curb and the trail.
The project will begin with work to widen the bridge on Green
Valley Road just north of Elk Creek Road. While the bridge will remain open
during construction, lanes will be reduced to 11 feet 6 inches wide in each
direction for the majority of the project. The bridge will be closed to
pedestrians during the project.
There will be times when traffic flaggers or cones will be
utilized on Green Valley Road, such as when materials are being delivered to the
project, but delays should be minimal.
The contractor for this project is Ebert Construction.
The project is expected to be completed by December 1, 2023,
weather permitting.
