Highway 24 Corridor Plan
Background
The Highway 24 Corridor Plan was a joint project between Pottawatomie County, the cities of Manhattan, Wamego, and St George, and the Kansas Department of Transportation intended to develop a greater understanding of the future needs and challenges along US Highway 24 from Manhattan to the Wamego.
The plan has led to numerous funding opportunities within the study area such as the addition of an acceleration lane at Flush Rd and Highway 24, improvements at the Green Valley Rd and Highway 24 intersection, and frontage road extensions along Highway 24 from Manhattan to Excel Rd.
A corridor plan advisory committee was created after adoption of the plan that meets twice a year to review and update the Highway 24 Corridor Plan.
