Dedicated on May 30, 1992, the Veterans Memorial was designed to commemorate those Pottawatomie County citizens that have served our country after December 31, 1946. Those that have served prior to December 31, 1946, are honored on the walls inside the county office building.
We are collecting names of honorably discharged veterans that reside or have resided in Pottawatomie County and served in any branch of the U.S. Military after December 31, 1946.
You can download a form to request a name be added to the memorial here.
Each brass plate can hold 50 names. Plates will be added to the monument as they are filled.
KSA 73-210 requires the Register of Deeds to only file original or certified copies of Military Discharges. If you have lost your original DD214, you can request a duplicate from the National Personnel Records Center.
Please note that as a courtesy to our Veterans, the Register of Deeds office will make certified copies and file your military discharge FREE of charge.
Thank you to our Veterans for your service!
