Planning & Zoning Office


The Pottawatomie County Planning and Zoning Office is responsible for administering the County’s Unified Development Regulations (UDR) which cover subdivision and zoning regulations.

The office is additionally responsible for land use planning in the County and implementing the County’s Comprehensive Plan and any additional adopted County Plans.

Other responsibilities of the office include building and sign permits, floodplain management, addressing, and subdivision plat reviews.

Green Valley Transportation and Thoroughfare Plan Request for Qualifications

Pottawatomie County is requesting qualification submissions for professional consultants to prepare a new Transportation and Thoroughfare Plan for the area known as Green Valley.

Green Valley Pedestrian Plan

The County is currently working the Flint Hills Metropolitan Planning Organization to develop a Pedestrian and Safe Routes to School Plan for the Green Valley Area. You can check out the Plan's website to view survey results and stay up to date on the Plan.

Unified Development Regulations

The County is update its Unified Development Regulations in response to the new Comprehensive Plan. You can view the draft chapters by visiting the Draft Regulations webpage.
