Responsibilities

The Pottawatomie County Fire Supervisor is dedicated to the protection of life and property in the rural and urban areas of Pottawatomie County.

Pottawatomie County Fire provides the community with fire safety, safety education, and fire prevention programs, while providing the mitigation of fire, medical,and related emergencies with professionally trained personnel. This is accomplished by using teamwork, resources, mutual aid agreements and contracts.

The goal is to minimize loss of life and property for the county; from fires, natural disasters, and life threatening situations and to assist other emergency agencies. The objective is to perform these services in an efficient manner by maintaining effective fire prevention, emergency response, fire suppression, and training.

Burn Permit Requirement Information

All persons participating in any agricultural or open burn in Pottawatomie County shall abide by Pottawatomie County Resolution 2009-17.
